Edmentium needed a brand identity that could do two very different jobs at once: hold up as a calm, legible system across everyday student communication, and still carry energy and motion when the brand needed to move, quite literally, through kinetic typography.
The brief
The identity had to work across a wide range of applications, from printed and digital brand materials to the fast pace of student-facing communication, without losing consistency or clarity along the way.
The approach
Origin8 built the system around a high-contrast yellow, black, and white palette, chosen for legibility and energy rather than decoration. That restraint gave the identity room to flex: the same visual language reads clearly in a static brand application and holds together just as well once it's set in motion.
What we delivered
The finished system included the core brand mark and its variations, a defined yellow, black, and white color and typography system, guidelines for applying the identity consistently across student communication, and a set of kinetic typography sequences built to carry the brand into motion.
Why it works
A brand identity for an audience that moves quickly needs to be legible at a glance and flexible enough to animate without falling apart. Keeping the palette and type system deliberately restrained is what makes both of those things possible at once.
